Cookie & Tracking Disclosure

1. What Are Cookies?
Cookies are small text files that websites place on your device (computer, phone, or tablet) through your web browser. They help websites remember information about your visit — for example, keeping you logged in so you don't have to enter your password every time you return. Cookies are a standard part of how the internet works and are used by virtually all websites.
2. Cookies We Use
Manaia uses only the minimum cookies required to keep you logged in and provide the service. The table below lists every cookie we set:
| Cookie Name | Type | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| hcs_id_token | Strictly necessary | Authenticates your identity so you can access your account | 1 day |
| hcs_access_token | Strictly necessary | Authorises requests to the Manaia service on your behalf | 1 day |
| hcs_refresh_token | Strictly necessary | Keeps your session alive so you don't have to log in repeatedly | 30 days |
| hcs_user_display | Strictly necessary | Stores your display name so the dashboard can greet you by name | 1 day |
3. Strictly Necessary Cookies
All cookies listed above are strictly necessary for Manaia to function. They are essential for authentication and security — without them, you cannot log in to or use the service.
Because these cookies are strictly necessary, they cannot be disabled while using the Manaia service. If you block these cookies through your browser settings, you will not be able to log in to your account.

4. Analytics and Performance Cookies
We do not use any analytics, advertising, or tracking cookies. There is no Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, Hotjar, or any other third-party tracker on the Manaia website or dashboard. Your browsing activity is never shared with advertisers or data brokers.
5. Third-Party Cookies
The following third parties may set their own cookies when you interact with their services through Manaia:
- Stripe — may set cookies during payment processing to prevent fraud. Stripe is PCI DSS Level 1 compliant.
- AWS Cognito — may set cookies during the authentication process.
- Google reCAPTCHA v3 — may set cookies during account registration to distinguish human users from bots. reCAPTCHA is only loaded on the signup page, not during normal use of the service. See Google's Privacy Policy.
These third-party cookies are governed by their respective privacy policies. We do not control or have access to these cookies.
6. How to Control Cookies
You can control and delete cookies through your browser settings. Each browser handles cookies differently — here is how to manage cookies in common browsers:
- Chrome: Settings > Privacy and security > Cookies and other site data
- Safari: Preferences > Privacy > Manage Website Data
- Firefox: Settings > Privacy & Security > Cookies and Site Data
- Edge: Settings > Cookies and site permissions > Manage and delete cookies
For more detailed information about cookies and how to manage them across all browsers, visit aboutcookies.org. Please note that disabling our strictly necessary cookies will prevent you from using the Manaia service.
