How do I set up Manaia?

Connect the Manaia Home Lite to your router, open the Manaia app, and follow the guided setup. The app detects your router and shows you exactly what to do. Most families are done in under 5 minutes. No technical knowledge needed.

Does it work with my router?

Yes. Manaia works with every router brand — Telstra Smart Modem, Netgear, TP-Link, Asus, mesh systems, and more. The app detects your router and guides you through setup with instructions specific to your model.

Will Manaia slow down my internet?

No. DNS lookups add less than 5 milliseconds of latency — unnoticeable in everyday use. Your download and upload speeds remain the same.

What happens if Manaia's service goes down?

Your internet will continue working, but protection will temporarily pause. Manaia has 99.9% uptime SLA with automatic failover to backup DNS servers.

Can my child bypass Manaia?

Network-level protection is very difficult to bypass without technical knowledge. If a child manually changes their device's DNS settings, Manaia alerts you. The Manaia roaming app (included with all plans) keeps protection active on mobile data and other networks.

How do I add a new device?

Devices are protected when they connect to your home network. No app installation or setup required. They'll appear in your dashboard within a few minutes.
